Welcome to the second edition of E’FFESTIVAL!

We are thrilled to present the event that transforms street photography into a multidisciplinary experience, capable of uniting photography, theater, cinema, music and digital art in one great cultural event.

1. Contest

Participate and showcase your vision in the four categories:

• Single Photo: An image that tells your vision of the world.
• Photographic Project: A series of shots that tell an intense and engaging story.
• Smartphone Photo: Demonstrate that creativity does not need expensive tools.
• BnW Photo: Enhance the emotions and charm of black and white.

In addition, Special Mentions will be awarded to reward those shots that surprise for their originality and emotional impact.

The photographs collected during the treasure hunt will be selected by a jury also composed of members of the city council and will contribute to the creation of a photographic book that will tell the experience of the festival.

Rules

1. THE COMPETITION

The Effe4.0 association, which has always promoted cultural and social initiatives, presents the E’FFESTIVAL Photographic Festival, an international event dedicated to street photography. The festival was created to give a voice to photographers, amateurs and professionals, inviting them to show the best of their creative vision. Participation in the festival is open to anyone who is
18 years of age or older. Minors may participate with the written consent of their parents or legal guardians.

2. COMPETITION CATEGORIES

IThe festival is divided into four categories, designed to enhance different declinations of street photography:

Category 1 – Single Photo:
A single shot that directly and spontaneously expresses the beauty or drama of everyday life.

Category 2 – Black and White:
Images created in grayscale, capable of transmitting emotions through contrasts, lights and shadows, emphasizing the narrative strength of the subject.

Category 3 – Smartphone:
Photographs taken with mobile devices, to demonstrate that creativity and talent do not depend exclusively on the equipment, but on the author’s vision.

Category 4 – Project:
A series of 10-12 images that, together, tell a story or explore a specific theme related to urban reality. Here, the ability to build a coherent and impactful narrative path is rewarded.

3. IMAGE REQUIREMENTS AND GROUNDS FOR EXCLUSION

Type and Accepted Formats: The works can be made both digitally and in analog, provided that the original (RAW or equivalent) is always available upon request of the jury. The images must be delivered in JPEG (.jpg) format, with the longest side not exceeding 2048 pixels and a maximum weight of 2MB per file.

Permitted Interventions: Crops, contrast adjustments, brightness and small corrections that do not substantially alter the original scene are permitted. The addition of extraneous elements, photomontages, renderings or the use of artificial intelligence software/hardware that
partially or completely modify the image is prohibited.

Exclusions:
Images that do not comply with the technical requirements or that are excessively manipulated, capable of misleading the evaluation,
will be excluded from the competition. Failure to submit the original, if requested, will result in the exclusion of the participant.

4. NUMBER OF PHOTOGRAPHS AND TYPE

Each participant is allowed to submit up to 5 photographs for each of the categories provided for in the festival (with the exception of the project category for which the submission of photographic projects of up to 12 photos is allowed). The aim is to encourage a conscious choice and an accurate selection of the shots, focusing on the quality and originality of each proposal. If the participant wishes to submit their work in more than one of the categories provided for in the festival, they must contact effe4.0 to receive the registration methods.

5. PHOTO COLLECTION AND FORMAT

The works must be sent on this page from March 31st until April 30th at 11.59 pm. It is important to rename each file following the format: Name_Surname_ProgressiveNumber (e.g. “Mario_Rossi_01.jpeg”).

6. PARTICIPATION FEE

Participation in the festival requires the payment of a fixed fee of €30.00, which includes the membership card to effe4.0, covers the organizational and management costs of the event, and guarantees participation in any other activity organized by effe4.0 for 2025. The payment, which can be made via PayPal, is final and non-refundable, even in the event of failure to upload the works within the established deadlines.

7. COMMUNICATIONS

All official communications regarding the festival will be sent via the email address indicated during registration and published on the official website and on Effe4.0 social channels. It is recommended to check your inbox regularly to avoid missing important updates and communications.

8.PHOTO EVALUATION AND JURY

The evaluation of the works will be anonymous: the judges will not know the identity of the participants during the analysis of the images.

The selection process includes:

Preliminary Check: The Effe4.0 Curator will carry out an initial check to eliminate any off-topic or non-compliant works.

Technical and Artistic Judgment: A committee of experts, composed of professional photographers and operators in the sector, will evaluate each shot
based on coherence with the theme, originality, technique and ability to convey emotions.

Request for Originals: Finalists may be asked to send the original file (RAW or equivalent) by the indicated deadline. Failure to send will result in exclusion from the final phase.

The jury reserves the right to expand or reduce the number of finalist works and to award special mentions or prizes at its discretion.

9. PHOTO OWNERSHIP, LEGAL TERMS AND VIOLATIONS

By submitting the works, each participant guarantees to be the author and holder of the copyright, releasing the organization from any disputes by third parties relating to the ownership or violation of image rights. The participant is responsible for ensuring compliance with current regulations regarding copyright and the rights of the people portrayed.

10. COPYRIGHT

The competitor maintains full ownership of the copyright on his/her works. By registering for the festival, he/she grants Effe4.0 the right to use the images exclusively for promotional and institutional purposes connected to the competition and related events, always guaranteeing the right credit to the author.

11. DISPLAY OF FINALIST PHOTOS AND VISIBILITY

The finalist works will be exhibited throughout the Festival period and in events and exhibitions organized subsequently by Effe4.0, and may be published on the association’s social channels and official website. The finalists authorize the use of their images, together with title and credit, for all promotional initiatives related to the festival.

12.JURY AND CURATOR AWARDS

The awards ceremony will take place during the closing event of the festival, in person.
The awards will be assigned as follows:

Category Awards: Recognitions for the first, second and third place in each of the four categories.

Possible Special Awards: The Curator and the jury may decide to assign extra awards or special mentions in consideration of exceptional merits or particular innovative aspects. The jury’s decisions are final.

13. CAUSES FOR EXCLUSION OF WORKS AND PARTICIPANTS

The following are grounds for exclusion, at the sole discretion of the jury:

Are offensive to common decency or are characterized by discriminatory content (racial, sexual, political or religious).

Contain explicit advertising references or violate the dignity of the subjects photographed.

Contain false or misleading information.

Have been created in violation of current regulations. The organization reserves the right to exclude works and/or participants even after the awarding of prizes, within six months of the conclusion of the competition.

14. WITHDRAWAL FROM THE COMPETITION

Participants who wish to withdraw from the festival must communicate this promptly, in any case no later than the closing date for uploading works. In any case, the participation fee will not be refundable.

15. MANAGEMENT AND REFUND OF QUOTAS

The collection of participation fees is managed by the Effe4.0 association for the purposes permitted by the statute. Due to the commissions and management costs, the fees paid will not be refunded, even in the case of non-effective participation after registration. The prizes will be offered by the sponsor Tecnico FotoDiego and by the partners who will accompany us throughout the duration of the Festival.

16. UNEXPECTED CASES

For all situations not expressly provided for in this regulation, the Curator, after consulting the Organizing Body and/or the Jury, will use his/her own common sense and experience to resolve any disputes, ensuring maximum transparency and correctness.

17. PRIVACY

Effe4.0 is committed to respecting the privacy and confidentiality of personal data provided by participants, processing them exclusively for the purposes
related to the Festival, in compliance with the European GDPR Regulation. Further details on data processing will be available on the
official website.

18. ACCETTAZIONE DEL REGOLAMENTO

By registering for the Effe4.0 Photography Festival and sending their works, the participant declares to have read, understood and fully accepted these regulations, committing to respect each individual provision.
